We are entering an exciting phase of growth and are looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager to help accelerate distribution and deepen adviser relationships.

The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business growth and strengthening existing adviser relationships across the UK IFA market.
You will own the full sales lifecycle—from prospecting and pipeline development through to closing new mandates and increasing assets under management (AUM)—while collaborating closely with the Head of Business Development and internal teams.
This role is suited to a commercially driven individual with strong experience in the IFA/wealth management space and a passion for building long-term partnerships.
Business Development & Sales
• Identify, engage and convert new IFA clients to drive net new AUM growth
• Generate and manage a high-quality pipeline through proactive outreach (cold, warm and referral channels)
• Lead client meetings, presentations and pitches to secure new mandates
• Develop and execute regional/business development strategies aligned with company growth objectives
Relationship Management & Retention
• Build and maintain strong relationships with IFAs, platforms and networks
• Take ownership of client retention and ongoing AUM growth within your portfolio
• Deliver a high-quality, consultative service, acting as a trusted partner to advisers
• Maintain regular engagement to deepen relationships and identify cross-sell opportunities
Strategic Contribution
• Identify new market opportunities, trends and distribution channels
• Contribute to the development of sales strategy alongside the Head of Business Development
• Provide market intelligence and feedback to inform product and proposition development
Pipeline & CRM Management
• Utilise CRM systems to manage pipeline, track activity and improve conversion rates
• Maintain accurate forecasting and reporting of sales performance
• Drive efficient sales processes from initial contact through to onboarding
Brand & Market Presence
• Represent EBI at industry events, conferences and seminars
• Enhance brand awareness through networking, digital engagement and thought leadership
About you:
Experience
• Proven track record in business development within:
o Asset Management / DFM / MPS / Platform / Wealth Management
• Demonstrable success in building and converting relationships within the UK IFA market
• Experience managing client portfolios and driving AUM growth
Skills & Competencies
• Strong commercial acumen with a consultative sales approach
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
• Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and act on growth opportunities
• Highly organised with strong pipeline and time management skills
• Confident communicator with strong presentation abilities
Technical Knowledge
• Good understanding of investment products and asset classes
• Knowledge of passive, factor-based or ESG investing is advantageous
• Familiarity with CRM systems and sales analytics
Qualifications
• Level 4 Diploma (CII/PFS) preferred
• Strong academic background with analytical capability
